My name is Sayward Ratliff and I am the Art Teacher at Mitchell Neilson Schools. I received my Art Education Degree at Middle Tennessee State University and this will be my 7th year teaching at Mitchell Neilson. We are going to have a lot of fun creating different types of art and experimenting with art materials this year. I am looking forward to a great year with my artists at MNS!
I strongly believe that art is not just about production but about the process of creating art and appreciating the art around us. Student artwork will remain at school for us to display in the hallways, use for city and school art shows, and use for assessment. All student work will come home at the end of the school year.
These are some of the art mediums and styles you can expect your child to work with in the art classroom:
-Drawing
-Painting
-2D design
-3D design
-Clay
-Collage
-Chalk Pastels
-Oil Pastels
-And lots more!

Please email me if you have any questions about Art at MNS. You are always welcome in the Art Classroom, so stop by any time to see what we are creating!
